🔧 Vehicle Check - Before Driving

A quick check before driving can prevent accidents and costly repairs.

Daily quick check (1 minute):

  • Tires - do they look normal? No visible damage?
  • Lights - do front and rear lights work?
  • Windshield wipers - is there washer fluid?
  • Brakes - does pedal feel normal?
  • Fuel - enough for the trip?

Weekly check:

  • Tire pressure - check with tire pressure gauge
  • Too low = higher consumption, poorer grip, uneven wear
  • Too high = less comfort, reduced road contact
  • Oil - check level with dipstick
  • Should be between MIN and MAX
  • Top up if needed (correct oil type!)
  • Coolant - check level in expansion tank
  • WARNING: Never open when engine is hot!
  • Brake fluid - level should be stable
  • Dropping fast? → Workshop!

Lighting - check everything works:

  • Low and high beam
  • Brake lights (ask someone to look)
  • Indicators front and rear
  • Reverse lights
  • Fog lights (if fitted)

Tires - important safety equipment:

  • Tread depth: minimum 1.6 mm (3 mm recommended)
  • Summer tires: April 1 - November 30 (allowed)
  • Winter tires: December 1 - March 31 (mandatory in winter conditions)
  • Studded tires: October 1 - April 15

Warning lights on dashboard:

  • 🔴 RED = STOP! Serious problem, stop safely
  • 🟡 YELLOW = Warning, check soon
  • 🔵/🟢 BLUE/GREEN = Information (e.g., high beam on)

Remember: A well-maintained car is a safe car.
