⚖️ Priority Rules - Who Goes First?

Knowing who should yield is fundamental for safe driving. Mistakes can lead to collision.

Right-hand rule - the basic rule:

• You must yield to vehicles coming from the right
• Applies when no other rules or signs exist
• Does NOT apply to pedestrians or cyclists on cycle path

Yield obligation (triangle sign):

• You MUST yield to all traffic on crossing road
• Slow down and be ready to stop
• Drive when completely clear

Stop obligation (stop sign):

• You MUST stop completely (wheels stop turning)
• Stop at stop line or before intersection
• Wait until clear, then drive

Main road:

• Vehicles on main road have priority
• Yellow diamond sign marks main road
• End of main road = right-hand rule applies again

Roundabout:

• Vehicles IN roundabout always have priority
• You yield when entering

Exiting from:

• Parking lot
• Property/private land
• Gas station
• Pedestrian street

→ You yield to ALL other traffic

Special situations:

• Tram almost always has priority
• Emergency vehicles with blue lights = everyone yields
• Vehicles in funeral procession stay together
• When meeting on narrow road: whoever can yield easiest does so

Remember: Even if you have priority - don't drive if it's dangerous!
