  • Protruding cargo over 1 m backward requires red flag/lamp

Maximum dimensions:

  • Always check vehicle's max load in registration document

Cargo securing:

  • All cargo must be properly secured
  • Use tension straps, nets or cargo boxes
  • Loose items become projectiles during braking
  • Check cargo during driving

Weight distribution:

  • Center of gravity should be low and centered
  • Heavier items placed at the bottom
  • Uneven load affects car's handling
  • Overloading is illegal and dangerous

Roof rack and roof box:

  • Check max weight for roof rack
  • Place heaviest load closest to roof (not in box top)
  • Air resistance increases fuel consumption
  • Remove roof box when not in use

Tips:

  • Plan loading before departure
  • Check tire pressure - increase for heavy load
  • Adjust headlights if car is heavily loaded in rear
