🚑 First Aid at Traffic Accidents

As a driver, you are obligated to stop and help at traffic accidents. Here's what you need to know:

L-ABC rule (Life-threatening situation):

  • L - Life danger: Secure the scene, warn other traffic
  • A - Airway: Check that the injured person is breathing
  • B - Bleeding: Stop severe bleeding
  • C - Circulation/Shock: Keep the injured warm and calm

At the accident scene:

  1. Park safely and turn on hazard lights
  2. Set up warning triangle (150-300m before on highway)
  3. Call 112 and describe: WHERE, WHAT, HOW MANY injured
  4. Provide first aid according to your ability

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation):

  • Check consciousness - call out and shake gently
  • Call 112
  • 30 chest compressions + 2 rescue breaths
  • Continue until ambulance arrives

Recovery position:

  • Used for unconscious person who is breathing
  • Bend one knee, place arm under head
  • Roll person toward you and stabilize

Remember:

  • Don't move neck-injured persons unnecessarily
  • Only move if there's life danger (fire, traffic)
  • Stay until emergency services arrive
